Many of you will remember "crzhrs"- Tommy, the Greek from New Hampshire, who was one of the first members here, and a prolific poster on the Alliance boards. He is, I see, no longer here.
He is, however, still a member on the "other" boards, but has not posted for a couple of months. We are growing concerned at his silence. I sent him a PM a couple of weeks ago, and our moderator Emailed him last week, but we have received no response.
If anyone has any recent information which they can share, would you please send me a PM? Please!!! Or, if you have a telephone number or address for Tommy, would you please contact him, and ask him to PM me, or post a message for us on the other board.
I hope that he is simply sunning himself in Greece or Mexico, but somehow I doubt it - his tomatoes would be going to ruin - and I am getting more worried by the day. I am old; I can't take this worrying crap.
Thanks,
Gordie

Gordie--
I have wondered about Tommy's recent absence here. I thought I had his e-mail address, but I couldn't find it. Have you checked some of the other forums? I think he posted on the History Channel or one of those others that used to be so popular until our hypocritical "buddy," darkcloud, rousted them all away. None of the people I speak to or e-mail every day, post any more, so they would not know.
Please let me know if you find out anything; I'll do the same.
Very best wishes, Fred.

I am delighted to let you all know that I heard from The Horse. He is doing well! Just thought he would take a break. It seems the boards were getting a trifle boring. I know what he means there! We need to spice it up a bit.
Whew!
Best wishes, Fred.

How could anyone who sips Ouzo and grows flowers find this (or any board) 'a trife boring'?
Seriously... glad to hear that as well, Fred. Given the recent run of weather in that neck of the woods, I had visions of Tommy frozen to a snow shovel out on the sidewalk somewhere.

Thanks, Fred - I'll pass the word along, if Tommy hasn't already posted over there.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their concern . . . I'm still alive & kicking (some may not be happy with that, however)
Still . . . I needed a little break and just got tired of going round in circles.
I do still check in every now & then . . . one big reason for not posting is my employer has now limited internet use (the crumb!) and that's when & where I was at my best.
Thanks one and all . . . the Ouza was going down oh-so-fast during this past winter. That may have fogged my memory about this forum.
The de-tox (my wife) has straightened me out!
Till then!

You have my sympathy, horse. I work on a DOI computer, and the increased regulations actually sent me into a screaming fit this afternoon. Fortunately, I got these forums unblocked when it was still possible, so my goof-off time is intact!
Glad you're still alive--I actually figured you were, or somebody would have told us.

You never know about that, Melani. It might not be priority one for any bereft family member, even if they know about the departed's passion for the subject, and his/her membership on this or any other forum.
My daughter knows what I do [generally speaking], and when I eventually die [2086], she will, if still alive herself], probably look through my papers and find names and addresses of people who have pre-deceased me. Or maybe she will check out the porn sites on my computer - whatever computers might be like in those coming years.
Anyway, my point is, that you never know - which is why I always start asking, if somebody is absent for a while.

A very interesting Adversary, given my Rightwing leanings and pro-USMilitary stances. Mr. Horse has always been polite to me, so I'll wish him well as far as myself is concerned.
I didn't really enjoy his run as "wtf" (an abbreviated slang?) but he was kind during my run on the other boards.
Strange
PS Am I the only one who occasionally amuses the peculiar fantasy of thinking that I'm actually talking to the real "Keoghs", "CrazyHorse's", etc.? Keogh (Rini is it?) especially has a dead on physical resemblance to the real deal. For a while I've actually believed him to be a relative, if not the actual flesh and blood incarnation.

Strange, you're a piece of work, I will give you that! And you bring a good sense of diversion to forums like this... as long as you don't get too carried away or too childish.
"Horse"-- as I usually call him-- has been one of the all-time good guys on the original site. He contributed to everything and was about as even-keeled as anyone could get, yet always recognizing the trouble-makers, early on. He brooked no bull from anyone and always gave better than he took. There were times I may have gone too far, but I always had a reason, and Horse was always there with a kind word and a sobering post. Like so many others, I do not know what he is like in real life, but I suspect Tommy K., "crzhrs," or Horse is simply one of those real good fellows one meets in life and whose acquaintance always seems to make each of us a little better. For my two cents-- or my twenty dollars-- they simply don't come any better. My thanks to Gordie for tweaking the concern... and like Kurt Russell's Wyatt Earp said to his dying friend, "Thanks, Horse, for always being there."
Best wishes, Fred.

Strange . . . my friend . . . thanks . . . I do appreciate those who are "different" . . . it makes the world a little more interesting.
And Fred . . .what can I say?
Now . . . just what the heck was Custer thinking when he failed to send a messenger to Benteen telling him of the Reno/Custer separation/attack?
We don't need you Benteen . . . Reno and I can handle it
then . . .
Wait . . . I need you Benteen . . . come quick!
A little too late for the recall of Benteen?

I have spent many, many years wondering just what Custer was thinking. Still haven't quite worked it out, but getting closer all the time.

I am glad to hear that the news of Tommy's demise has been greatly exaggerated. But to answer his innocent query....Custer had no need to send orders to Benteen about Reno's attack in the valley, since Custer had already sent Benteen to that same valley to either attack the hostiles he found there or to support Reno when he got there, of course.

Do we know if in fact Benteen was to support anyone?
How would he know the command had been divided?
How would he know who was attacking who?
How would he know where Reno and Custer were?
The only knowledge he had of a battle was when he returned and first heard gunfiring and then saw the end of Reno's "fight". Still he didn't know who exactly was engaged.
And it wasn't until Reno and Benteen actually met that he found out what was going on.
Still gotta think Custer made a mistake by at least not notifying Benteen of the division of the command and an attack order issued.

Custer made lots of mistakes. Benteen could have asked either Knipe or Martin what was going on, and at least had a better idea of same.
