If you need a topic, how about the movement to Weir point and back and this Vincent Charley business. Just a thought. Or pin the topo map over the dart board and play where's Thompson's ford.

Well, another Round Table is history, and as usual, we had a marvelous time. Don Horn was our gracious host-- also as usual-- but there were only four of us this trip, probably because of some misunderstandings in our scheduling. "Stevenonhudson" and Dan ("benteen"), plus myself and Don were it.
That did not deter us from gabbing about the LBH, books, baseball-- particularly the Yankees and the old Brooklyn Dodgers-- and Steve told us a great story about our own "Gerry," who it turns out is one of the world's really nice guys.
While it was only a cozy foursome-- "rch" called me as I was pulling into the parking lot, and told us he was unhappily going to miss this one-- I think we wound up staying longer than ever before, breaking up around 4:15, a good four hours of yak-time.
For those of you who have never met Dan "benteen"-- and neither Steven nor I had until today-- all I can say is he is a gentleman of the first order and someone everybody should look forward to meeting. What a tremendous fellow!
Melani and "Montrose," it is a shame you couldn't make it; it would have been even more fun with you there, plus, "keogh" couldn't make it and he was sorely missed. There is, however, room for more and more we shall have.
A great day, fellows!
Best wishes, Fred.

Thanks for the invite, guys--as I said, it's a bit of a stretch to fly 3,000 miles for lunch, but there are those NY relatives...as soon as we haven't seen them for long enough, I'll try to coordinate a visit.

The wife and I are making plans to be in NYC next summer to visit my brother and sister. Both NYC yankees. I expect a round table to be held in my honor! Also, maybe a Yankees game.
I also want to see the Weir and Martini graves in Brooklyn. OK Fred and Bill?

I'd like to make a trip back east some time but I'd probably want to see the Boston area first as I've never been there. bc

I've been to New York on a number of occasions and have to say it is spectacular. Back in the 1980's my brother lived in an apartment in Times Square. I couldn't sleep for the 40 foot Fuji sign blinking in my window. By far the fall is the most beautiful time of the year there. Love it!

You can count me in, Michael. I'd be happy to meet up with you and take you to see Martini and Weir. I'm sure they would enjoy it as well. as they don't get many visitors these days.

Okay, you guys. It is November 8, and I am thinking about the next NYC Round Table-- thank you Joe Kelly.
If we set it up far enough in advance-- weather notwithstanding-- maybe it will be far enough ahead to have a clear Saturday.
How does January 15, 2011, sound?
Maybe we can impose on Don Horn again. I will see him tonight at West Point, and ask him if we can all get together at his place on that date. Maybe he can reserve a spot for us.
Best wishes to all, Fred.
