Uhh ... nobody is frozen out at Diane's board. As you can clearly see, you do not have to register to merely view it--unlike this location. David cuts and pastes entire quotes from it, as evidenced by his blog and personal emails.
Or are you talking about not embracing the reactionary political bent of Crazedcusterfan #1? Goodness! One of these days, he'll get on your nerves, too, and it will be quite entertaining to watch the Olympic-qualified leapfrogging event to get away from the hatred and closedmindedness he so accurately represents.
Or perhaps the sack race.

DC can be acerbic, but at least he attacks everyone, so he is an equal opportunity insulter.
Having said that his mantra of the RCOI as being the rosetta stone should be listened to. That is not to say that events spoken years after do not have merit--but the closer to the event the "fresher" it is in one's mind.
Plus years later when all the ramifications have set in, survivors then used hindsight to alter their accounts or realizing they are a direct-link to history and the standing could be greaetly increased if they came up with some unknown matter regarding the LBH. Of course that leads us into never-never-land wotj all the controversy, contradictions, and "I was the last to see Custer" fame.
DC is clever but is not in the same league as some who spew their hate-filled rants when challenged or stood up to.

Hmmm ... just noticed a personna named "operasinger" came on board. Perhaps said identity can verify just how far GAC got with her .... home run or left drooling?

Iam not interested that Custer or Reno or even Sitting bull wore ladies underware on the day... Nice to hear from you, sarge, though I'm afraid if I quote any more of your post, my screen will melt! I would say that david and darkcloud are about on the same plane; they just have different styles. And for those of you, like Tricia, who ARE interested in GAC's underwear, there is a great shot of his drawers as the bodies are being stripped in the History Channel video.

Melani has already been complaining because I removed several offensive passages from otherwise productive posts, and this has led to a number of threads discussing my alleged overuse of removal of offensive posts. Now you are alleging that I am not censoring the offensive material enough. It seems I just can't win with some of you. The Moderator What I am worried about is what you consider offensive content, i.e., the mention of Diane's board. Earlier today I commented to her about what I consider even more silly behavior, and so now I am in trouble with both of you. Nobody is winning here. I am very pleased to see that this board is once again open to the public. If the closure was an effort to prevent specific people from reading the posts, it probably didn't work anyway. From her response to my comment, it is obvious that Diane is reading this thread, for example.

I hope this is the last time I address this thread.
I'm glad to see you do not have to log-in any more. However, I am extremely disappointed that Markland and Foolkiller have withdrawn. Those guys are A-list contributors and without people like them, this board runs the risk of becoming irrelevant and therefore dying the slow death I am seeing in others. The nice thing about Diane's board is that she takes an extraordinary amount of guff and lets it alone. I deleted more complete posts when I moderated those two or three subjects than I think Diane has ever deleted-- or changed, for that matter. So what does that tell me? Well, it tells me she is extremely tolerant. That tolerance allows people to feel comfortable with what they are saying and that tolerance makes people feel free to express their opinions.
Does that get out of hand? Sure it does, but you know something? It still winds up policing itself. In actuality, it winds up marginalizing the radicals. That's why David Cornut was never taken seriously and it's why as much as he ranted and raved, all he did was expose himself as a fruitcake and an extremist. Sure he has some good ideas; sure he knows a lot about the battle; but his entire approach was so extreme, so outrageous, that he was confined to the outer reaches of credibility. And this is where he was stupid. If he had a message to send, he squandered all his capital on his intransigence, thereby completely turning off his audience.
Why do you think Darkcloud has shifted off center-stage now? His attacks on almost everyone finally became a little too much and people began ignoring what he was saying. If you notice, Darkcloud's "radicalism" has greatly diminished and while he is just as acerbic as before, he has become much more reasonable and approachable. No one had greater disdain for DC than I did, but he has even managed to win me over because of his moderating posts. It's sort of like the 60's and 70's radicals finally becoming "mainstream" America.
A reasonable, tolerant, and "out-reaching" organization is the one that will succeed, not a small, closely-held, watchdog society.
Despite Markland's initial rantings, he was an invaluable contributor here. His loss and the loss of Foolkiller may have done this board irreparable harm. The jury will be out on that for some time. I think you did well when you got this Wittenburg guy, because he's supposed to be some sort of Western expert, but I also know he just joined Diane's board, as well. That's not a problem unless you can't control the animosity over here. A clear, approachable policy is always best. Nothing to hide.
And I will say one more thing. Someone named "operasinger" is calling the LBHA out. I would suggest paying very close attention to what he is saying, what he is asking for, and I would provide it toute de suite. He appears to know his stuff; he has asked the right questions; and guys like me (who don't care quite as much where his $80 has gone)-- with a 22-year career on Wall Street-- are sitting back, waiting to see the answers.
My suggestion would be, bite your collective tongues, throw up the salute, and give him the correct answers. If you think you have some troubles now, watch out if you get this guy's dander up.
Best wishes, Fred.

Uhhh ... the true underwear interest? Well, we call them reenactors. Or are they too good to bother themselves with drawers and jocks?
