The LBHA's own Don Horn, a great student of and writer about Custer and the LBH and an even greater friend to many of us, is scheduled to be the featured speaker at the November 08, 2010, monthly meeting of the West Point Branch of the Company of Military Historians. He's scheduled to speak at 07:30 at the West Point Museum, just outside the academy gate. I'm not a member of this organization but guests are welcome. I've attended a number of excellent lectures there as a guest of longtime LBHA member Charles Markantes, who is also a member of the COMH. Here's a link to the website, they still haven't posted Don's lecture but it contains all the info anyone who wants to attend would need: www.military-historians.org/company/chapters/wp.htmI received an email about Don's appearance which I can forward to anyone who wants it but here's a 'cut-n-paste' of the relevant part: November 8, 2010: Company of Military Historians, Don Horn: author of "Portrait of a General, Custer at little Big Horn", 7:30 PM,West Point MuseumI hope to see some of my LBHA buddies and maybe even some of the contributors to this board at the museum next Monday! -StevenS.
