Ray and Dan,
I will e-mail Steven-On-Hudson to see if he can make it either of those two September dates, the 18th or the 25th. August is not good for me, Ray, so if you can make either of the September dates, that would be great. Maybe we can get Bill to e-mail Joe, Charles, and anyone else on his list to set it up. I hate to impose on Don again, but we'll see what he says.
Best wishes, Fred.

I should be able to make either date in September. Having been out to the battlefield again since our last Roundtable in January and having attended bits and pieces of both the CBHMA and Friends get togethers out there and done a helluva lot more reading of both books and message board, I'm really looking forward to another lunch. and the fact that some of the most knowledgeable and interesting folks on this board may also attend just whets the appetite even more!!

I'm game to meet up whenever you guys choose to do so. Don won't consider it an imposition at all. He would be more than happy to host us at Pal's Cabin, I am sure. Just let me know what day you guys decide on and we can contact Don to make sure things are good on his end.
Garryowen,

Bill,
It would be nice if we could get Charles and Joe there. If you e-mail them and get their OKs on either of those dates-- September 18th or 25th-- we can arrange it from there.
Best wishes, Fred.

Billy,
Good deal! Charles is great.
Let's shoot for September 25th. It is an extra week which may help clear some schedules (like mine!). Is that okay with everyone?
Best wishes, Fred.

Hey, if any of you out there are nearby and can make our Round Table on September 25th... and are reading the debates between me, "rch," and "keogh"... these little get-togethers are well worth the price of admission. The three of us go at it on these boards-- and at the Round Tables-- but we are great friends (although "rch's" threat to read from Frederick Whitaker's book may put the lie to that!).
The debates are marvelous, the beer is better, and the friends are best of all!!!!!!!
Best wishes, Fred.

Good thing it is for friends. Fred is awful tough on his friends sometimes from the tone of some of these posts, I'd pay admission to see some of his enemies come argue the battle with him.
Last guy I know from McPherson who went to NYC, was our former congressman, who got sliced up by some crazy sword wielding guy on a ferry boat. Shows how tough NY is, he who carries the biggest knife wins the knife fight. Wonder if the guy was a hussar?
It is closer for me to drive to the LBH. I'd like to find some time in late fall or winter to go walk some of the areas and ride as well.

Oh, and they're not tough on me, right?!<g> These guys know how much I care for Benteen and what he did, and "rch" is forever giving me s**t about it. Same with that bum, "keogh." The irony here is that I am as much a supporter of Custer as I am of Benteen. I do not choose sides... as some of my friends do!!Best wishes, Fred.
