For anyone interested, we are trying to put together another of our famous/infamous New York-New Jersey Round Tables.
The tentative date is Saturday, September 28, 2013, and I am trying to arrange it at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, New Jersey, right near the former Pal's Cabin.
So far the following have expressed interest in attending: 1. bandboxtroop 2. rch 3. benteen 4. fred 5. keogh... I believe 6. Don Horn
Everyone interested is invited to attend and the more the merrier. The only thing we would ask is that all past arguments, animosities, antipathies, dislikes, fights, battles, and one-eyed stares be ditched in the nearest dumpster before entering.
Best wishes, Fred.

Best wishes, Fred. Its good to see you again on the forum Fred. Yes, you can put me down as attending the Roundtable. I will get an email out to the rest of our past attendees to let them know. If I hear back from any of them, I'll post it up here. garryowen, keogh

Good. I'm glad. Maybe we can do our best to forget about the ugly past, despite differences of opinion.
Best wishes, Fred.

Best wishes, Fred. Its already done Fred. I look forward to seeing you again so we can discuss some new developments I've come across about our favorite battle. This one in particular centers on Luce Ridge. It may be important. garryowen, Bill

The Round-Table is set for noon on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Mayfair Farms.
All are invited.
The address is 418 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, New Jersey.
This is fairly close to the old Pal's Cabin. Pal's was on the corner of Prospect and Eagle Rock. At the intersection of Prospect and Eagle Rock, you turn north on Eagle Rock and the Mayfair driveway is the first one past the shopping center.
It starts at noon. We accept no late arrivals. Those who come late, buy.
Best wishes, Fred.

Got to love Arizona and gun laws. Everyone can carry concealed here. We now allow unlimited magazine capacity and suppressor for hunting.
How about putting in a locking box for your firearms. Write trunk on it.

Send Horn my very best and tell him I'm still working on Volume 2 of my next book if he asks. Next year, hopefully I'll be finally able to get the hell out of here but in the meantime all I can do is read, write, draw.

Joe, I doubt it. Don probably has an arsenal hidden away there... or somewhere nearby. Sheathe it and cover it up so it won't be recognized as such. A friend of mine got into some hot water with the NY police when they spotted a re-enactor's weapon in his car. Not fair at all, but don't want to see anything like that happen to you. And you better make... I set this up for you, Ray, and Don. Plus, Rini and I need to re-build some bridges. Best wishes, Fred.

Fred I told you I have issues as I will not drive on morphine and oxy I am counting on my ride. Been getting drunk with Phil for past 2 weeks so should be able to get a ride up there he is pensioned out from the job. And since this revolver is pre 1898 original not a shooting reproduction it is not considered a firearm in NJ. Just had a NJ State Trooper friend confirm this. I also have that 1st model 1876 prarie belt, a nice collection of 45 70, 45 55 rounds made post LBH (1882) and the Custer documents I just purchased. Did you guys see the signed photograph of Lt Porter for sale? I am considering selling one of my carbines to buy it or doing a straight out trade. Perry out in California has it for sale. Its a large albumen taken at West Point. Porter is one of the missing , any items from Lord, Porter , Harrignton Sturgis I find most interesting. I could show up in the Custer uniform from (into the West mini series)

We had a wonderful Roundtable Meeting in West Orange, NJ, this afternoon. In attendance were Don Horn, rch (Ray), benteen (Dan), Fred and myself. We discussed many aspects of the LBH battle including timelines, Luce Ridge, Wallace's times and itinerary, Reno's testimony, Sharpshooter Ridge, 3411, the Pitsch place, Martin's testimony, etc. over a fine lunch. The Summit Meeting was a grand success and a policy of detente was agreed upon by all parties.

Actually, more than detente, I think old friendships were renewed and understandings were reached. It is a good feeling. The discussions were lively, interesting, and informed. It was virtually a throw-back meeting.
And it was a helluva lot of fun. We will be doing it again.
Best wishes, Fred.
