If you're talking about Marching to Valhalla, David, I am quite glad it hasn't gotten made. Two hours of watching Custer examine his navel would drive me to tears. Blake was really sliding along on his reputation with that effort.

Kevin Costner was to have played Custer in STOTMS the first time around. I think he would be a great Custer. But I think Nicholas Cage would be good or Val Kilmer. And I agree with Matthey McConaughey as well

Cage! His best resemblance to any historical character would be better served as the real Vlad Dracula . I have no idea how you came up with him.
I stand by Horton as the best one, he had mannerisms and everything, its too bad that he was a supporting actor in the Crazy Horse movie. Buffalo Bill also had a smashing resemblance to Custer. The big problems being the huge inaccuracies of his stage plays (him with a sword at Little Bighorn, etc.).

Horton was the best I've seen, for sure. He definitely had the Custer never-sit-still-ed-ness, the excitablilty, and even the high voice--if I recall correctly. I'd always pooh-poohed Horton in Singles and thirtysomething, but he took GAC and made him ... well, him.
I'm with you about Nicolas Cage; he's getting too old. I've been a big fan ever since Fast Times At Ridgemont High, but I don't see him as Custer.
I might be able to roll a horse shoe into a ball. You should see my nail collection, I bend the big ones into horseshoes, thick ones with no tricks. My youtube videos have it all, from me singing classic hits in my horribly deep voice (everything from Carpenters to Wizard of Oz) to me bending steel and chewing on my foot as I hop around to "eye of the tiger".
I don't know how to post links exactly, but go to David's youtube page (Custerdivision), and look for sethmanrockandroll on "friends of CusterDivision". That will take you to my page, I suggest the "Steel Bending" video and "Stranger Sings, Baby!". I also have "The Thespian" where I butcher famous movie lines and then there's some other weird videos.
PS Every one is too old to play Custer. Have you seen what Hollywood is like recently? Every one is a fat millionaire and hardly any one is under 40 because its difficult for any one new to penetrate. Things went to hell somewhere during the year 2000 and now they absolutely refuse to let any one in. Luckily my business is never defeated because I stay aware and I always have the goods and the eye for people to look for, but God help any one else.
