I only want what is due to me for my honest efforts on his behalf, as promised. I am not a big clothes horse type, and I do not wear earrings, although I can appreciate others' wearing them. That being said, if you want to purchase that statue and install it on my lawn, just send me a personal message (but not too personal) and I will give you directions to my humble abode, But you must be prepared to mount the statue yourself, as I am not able to help you.

Libbie Custer had a slightly used and unhappy statue for you. A bit foppish to have heard her tell it, but it's somewhere in the basement of either the Alamo--not be to be confused with Tony Alamo--near Pee Wee Herman's stolen bike, or West Point.
I'm sure the Custer estate--not to be confused with Custer Estates, a nice-enough apartment complex in Monroe, MI--would be willing to pay you to take it off their hands, that is if the Work of Art hasn't already bought it.

Have you REALLY surfed that website -- thoroughly??? I doubt it, as it has many interesting topics & explanations. Although I'm only about 25% through it, the website is SO enlightening!!!
Custerwest, one thing I would like to know is WHY don't you have a forum of your own! I see that PROBOARDS is offered FREE! All they need is someone to HOST it on their websites. Go for it, you'd be a GREAT website moderator! Even though I was prodded to ask you this question by huckleberryjoe, I think it would be an EXCELLENT IDEA! You could have it in English, French & German versions, so EVERYBODY in Europe could have a enlightening debate over the FAMOUS battle of GAC!!! Think about it.....It would enhance your website to the TOP!
After having read some these posts, Im sorta scared. I get the feeling that some people are not very sincere in what thier saying. Alot seems as if though some people are talking just to talk. Others just seem as though thier buttering up to who thier talking about.

I am sincere. Some time ago, and on another forum, Custerwest sought information about someone, and I was gracious enough to search my notes and provide it to him. In return, he said that he would erect a statue on my lawn. I'm just reminding him. I don't butter up to or for anyone. The others to whom you might be referring can speak for themselves.
What a wonderful idea. A forum on custerwest!!!! Then we could get the real and true story and we can all sing manly songs together. And if we have vacation time we can all get together in Switzerland and do manly things.
I'm getting in on this thread very late, allow the Strange one to approach.......
Custerwest is one of the greatest websites on earth, I've never had one problem accessing any of it, and it must be applauded because I have never been to a history site (or any site) that is so absolutely packed. Anyone having enough time to read everything on there (which I still have to do someday) is very fortunate. David is one of the great redeemers of the internet, taking advantage of the full potential for history and entertainment on the web. I use to despise computers until now, and since computers are a necessity for my way of business, I am very appreciative of anyone who takes the Internet into a zone that is more fulfilling.
As for the hatred on whomever, its all nonsense that has no place anywhere. Lots of people have great things to say and instead we are simply dragged into so much nonsense of hideous bickerings that have no advancement in knowledge. I speak for myself and a few others when I state that we didn't get into history just to sass back and forth. Furthermore, we did not get into history so that we can speak hatred toward the great and interesting figures to which we are researching. Teddy Roosevelt knows what to say about critics, people can belittle greatmen, but being one yourself is a harder thing and more fulfilling and worth it. I encourage us all to pity any twit that wishes to sass back with out any dignity and valour. Productivity is the key, contribute, theory, documents, perspective. Any one who stalls the advancement of knowledge is as valuable as a sack of dung.
Any one who wants to insult people, should at least do it while injecting some valuable history, that way we are not doomed to uselessness of of empty discussions. Every other forum on the internet is nothing but F- this, F- that, and nothing is as productive as places like this. So sit back and let the history sink in. This is a fresh board and we need to kickstart it properly if we wish to beat the Merkelite board.
