Looks good for most but I think Luce is off a bit. Here is my working map. It changes from time to time. The blue line is something I have ridden horseback numerous times. Last year I rode with a Crow friend of mine who is a Marine. He started his egress from MTC just like all the others I had ridden with but he turned to the right. That turn is the yellow line on the map. When we topped out I could see we were on Luce. That red line is from the artifacts map. In discussions I had called it a running W do to its shape. When we were there I could see why. It is rim rock with a drop off. So if you wanted to shoot from the edge it would look as it does. There are also Indians sites close which are perfect hit and run or ambush sites. Wait until the soldiers are on that rim where they can't pursuit and fire at them.
I can imagine Custer giving a command to return fire and then moving north. From that point forward it continues and rejoins the blue going into Deep Coulée and on toward Battle Ridge.
That dirt tank was not there for Custer to water but it is a great point when riding to know where you are at. I rode past that tank with the Real Birds and last year also. Will Hutchison was on that ride and I told him to remember that dirt tank because it is easy to fix your location on a map. For me I believe Custer's troopers went down Middle Coulée and went straight across with at least 3 companies. A line down Middle and straight across MTC an egresses as shown. It does not eliminate the other routes since you can not cross MTC by moving toward the big village until you reach this egress point. MTC has deep cuts that force you to move west and then cross.
