Watching 12years a slave picking up the awards at. the British Academy awards last night made me think a new Custer/BLBH film would do as well or better and there are certainly enough experts on this board to write a great screenplay of course that's a lot of work but it would be great to have the "real" story told best wishes Trish.

Ben Foster would be the Custer to end all Custers. He not only has the acting chops, depth and range to become the real Custer, but the man can actually ride a horse. In 3:10 to Yuma he was the only castmember who looked like he belonged horseback. With the right script and director he could own this role. All he needs is the right actress to play Libbie and have real chemistry to portray their characters as the passionate and star crossed couple. Can you say Oscar?
General of the Army (Medicine Man/Chief))
Fortunately, you may add your own 'un' - as required; the first rule of Little Bighorn must apply.... and Mr. Spitt gets the job (done). His good lady would probably find a role.
The FAL hunting party photo, a good starting point for a screen play. The individual sat immediately in front of and beneath the Lieutenant Colonel, is James Offley-Paulding who served as Gibbon's MO and patched up LaForge after he fell breaking a collarbone. His letters were published by W.A. Graham in a 1936 article. New Light on the Little Big Horn - THE FIELD ARTILLERY JOURNAL - JUL_AUG_1936.

If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and looks like a duck ~ it is probably a goose.
