Remains of Sgt. Frederick Williams [sic. Wyllyams], killed in the June 26, 1867 battle near Fort Wallace, Kansas. "The body was fearfully mutilated," reported Harper's Weekly (July 27, 1867). "His scalp was taken, two balls pierced his brain, and his right brow was cut open with a hatchet. His nose was severed and his throat gashed. The body was opened and the heart laid bare. The legs were cut to the bone, and the arms hacked with knives."

Observe carefully the mutilated remains of Sgt Wyllyams. His wrist is carved up. The reason why is that he had a nice tattoo and the savages cut it off and today it remains in a private collection.l I have my thourghts on who owns this and I think this person is a sick SOB. It should be buried with his remains. Now this is a true fact no scuttlebut.
