(Conz wrote:) Hmmm...do you mean from the northern end, toward LSH where you think he came across the ridge, and charged southward into the swale (underneath the guns of the carbineers on battle ridge?)? He could do it the other way, seems to me, because L Co on Calhoun Hill occupies the southern end of Keogh's swale.
No, My model has Crazy Horse crossing over Battle Ridge just north of LSH and circled around behind East Ridge opposite the Keogh sector. He continued on moving southward until he emerged at the backside of Calhoun Hill near the upper reaches of Deep Coulee. When Calhoun shifted his skirmish line eastward to repel the assault of LWM's charge against C Co, this gave CH the opportunity to launch an attack on L Co's led horses (which were now not covered well by L Co skirmishers on Calhoun Hill). These horses were driven north along the swale until they ran into Keogh's held horses directly below his position on Battle Ridge. Keogh charges down from Battle Ridge to save his stampeded mounts.
Bill, just wondering where you have Gall? I tend to have Gall circling around Calhoun Hill and moving north up horseholder ravine.
