Any of you LBHA'ers have any info on the Indianapolis meeting this fall? I might try and make that one as well.
2009- Gettysburg and the Little Big Horn in the same year. It's been a very good year so far.

Sandy Barnard sent me this. Thanks Sandy.
2009 Indianapolis Little Big Horn Conference, Sept. 11 & 12, 2009
After an absence of many years, we will be sponsoring this conference in September. No tours. Just speaker after speaker talking about Little Big Horn, Custer and other issues. We'll gather that Friday evening. Beginning at 9 a.m., we will feature six talks, ending with an after-dinner speaker that night. The conference will be at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, which is just off I-465, west of Indianapolis and 10-15 minutes north of the Indianapolis Airport.
The hotel offers shuttle service from the airport. To make reservations, call 317-299-8400. Its nightly room rate for our conference will be $74.00, but you must call the hotel and mention you will be attending the Little Big Horn Conference. The room rate is guaranteed until Aug. 13. After that date, rooms will be based on availability, so make your reservations early.
Conference speakers will include: Patrick Schroeder, National Park Service historian at Appomattox Courthouse; Lee Noyes, author-researcher and editor of the CBHMA newsletter, The Battlefield Dispatch; Father Vince Heier, well-known as the collector of Custer/Little Big Horn books and memorabilia and author of a new book on Custer Battlefield postcards; Deb Goodrich, author-researcher on Kansas history during the Civil War and later Indian wars; Kevin Connelly, former president of CBHMA and an author-researcher; and Norvelle Wathen, co-author of the legendary Little Big Horn book, The Custer Battlefield, An Aerial Perspective from The Crow's Nest to Custer Hill.
The hotel's rate includes breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Our CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEE of $60.00 per person will include lunch and supper on Saturday. LBHA, CBHMA and OIW members are especially welcome to attend, but the conferencde will be open to all who have an interest in the Indian wars.

Latest Update from Sandy Barnard regarding the Indianapolis LBHA Roundtable Conference: Subj: Indy LBH/Indian wars Meeting Hello All... Our Indianapolis meeting is drawing a nice crowd. I expect no less than 60 people for Sept. 11-12. However, a number of "regulars" haven't signed up yet. The hotel is asking for a food count as of Sept. 5, so I wanted to let folks know that they need to sign up before that date. After that date, they can still attend, but may have to go hungry! Anyone interested in more info should contact me. Thanks! Oh, one change in the program: Peter Cozzens has had to drop out. Steve Towne of Indianapolis will step in to talk about Col. Henry Carrington, who spent the Civil War years in Indy -- before he had that little dust up with Red Cloud and Co. in Wyoming Territory . > Sandy AST Press 1325 Marbank St. Wake Forest , NC 27587 919-453-0577/2944 Fax-919-453-2980 Cell-919-274-9263 See our web site: www.Indianwarsbooks.comOther e-mail: Sandybarnard@nc.rr.com
