TO ALL YE ROUND-TABLE ASPIRANTS!!
I am heading back to Death Valley shortly after Election Day and I am not sure when I shall be back in sunny downtown New York again. Maybe shortly... maybe not.
Anyone interested in the next Round Table on Saturday, November 1? A return to P. J. Clark's sounds good to me. Ideas? Comments? OK's?
Best wishes, Fred.

Now that the holidays are behind us, it may be time to think about a January round table meeting.

Keogh,
It looks like we're more likely to need a TV tray rather than a round table, but even if it's only the two of us I think we'll find sometjhing to talk about. lf it is just us, we don't have to go into the City. Perhaps you know a convenient place in Queens or Brooklyn that will let us sit around for 2 or 3 hours, or you might be able to come over to my place.

I will email the regulars who usually attend the roundtables to see if they'd like to participate. I don't think many of them are active on the board here, so they probably have no idea of what's going on. keogh P.S. Fred, we will surely miss your presence among us. Rest assured we will have an empty chair with your picture on it to remind us all that you are present in spirit if not body. Our first toast will be for you.

If it turns out to be just the two of you, who is going to referee? One day, before I croak, I will show up at one of these things, just to p... you all off.

One day, before I croak, I will show up at one of these things, just to p... you all off. Quite the contrary; it would be our honor to have you. The p.o. days are over. I find the Internet-speak is like the first day I walked into a French class: it all sounded like Greek to me. A year or two later, things made much more sense... including the inflection, the lingua franca, and the argot. Best wishes, Fred.
